A great idea made even better
We knew before we started that fitting a motor to a dolly wasn’t new, but our approach was totally different from the outset. We wanted to take an often-tried idea to a whole new level.

Industry understanding
In working closely with industry professionals and understanding their need for visual results that were new and distinctive, we managed to raise the bar and deliver a unique and exceptional product. The Furio provides the competitive edge to television producers who need to deliver differentiation and new styles in their audiovisual content.

Detailed design
The system has been designed and engineered with a host of details that puts it in a class of its own. It is easy to set up, and even easier to use. The Furio dolly system is reliable and robust, and gives results from day one.

Unique, never been seen before images
If you want shots that have never been aired before, then you should call us for a demonstration.

Unique and original visual results

  • Up to 5 degrees of freedom - track, lift, tilt, pan, and roll
  • Servo controlled motors leading to completely smooth operation
  • full digital networked control
  • Fully programmable and repeatable

Silent & discrete operation

  • Specially designed and engineered wheels - Silent wheels™
  • Aesthetic design (can easily be on-air)
  • Modular system – can be used with and without risers (48cm/18” at its lowest point, as well a telescopic fixed lift system (up to 1m85/6’)

Easy control

  • Smooth tracking
  • Precise and accurate pan tilt/camera head
  • 2 control systems: joystick and panbar
  • Track and lift control through either foot pedals or hand controls
  • Backpan compensation (can be turned off or on) – the camera head automatically compensates for movement around the curve
  • Motor controlled therefore can work all day

Quick set up

  • Optional flight cases especially designed for long distance travel, and intensive use Easy to maintain (built-in diagnosis feature)
  • Reliable and robust construction (suitable for the rental market)
  • Professional high quality connectors & cabling

“On-air” camera moves made better
The Studio Automation option gives the Furio an ability to deliver smooth and repeatable “on-air” camera moves. An unlimited number of moves and position pre-sets can be recorded so that signature visual images can be called on anytime and every time.

DSP technology
This unique feature is possible thanks to the latest advancements in the field of DSP (Digital Signal Processors) technology. We take advantage of the best of today’s technology, and don’t allow ourselves to be governed by legacy systems.

Unique pre-visualization solution
The “Pre-Viz” application is unique. It allows you to pre-program and visualize your show before moving into an actual studio. It’s easy. Together, we build a 3-D model of the set where you plan to stage your program. In this virtual world, we position our robotic camera equipment and conceive all the camera moves for the entire show. It then gives the opportunity to all stakeholders to agree upon a visual style. A high quality rendering will be then created for final approvals.

Set construction
Once the set is actually constructed, and the actual camera equipment is installed, the corresponding camera moves are imported into the equipment, ready to reproduce the moves you have created.

Clear advantages
The advantage of working this way is that all the guesswork and risk is taken out of the design process, and the creative developmental work is done before any major expenses occur. The added bonus is that you can try out any number of visual styles until you are satisfied you have the desired result.

Open architecture
The system also offers an open control architecture allowing endless possibilities and flexibility towards system integration. Besides the factory installed control software, there is an SDK available for further customization allowing interfacing with playout systems, video servers, and other studio equipment.

    Virtually any studio you imagine
More and more studios are using virtual sets for different productions such as news, magazines, kids, music etc. Even though these virtual studios are extremely flexible and cost effective, still today, the main issue is a full-proof tracking system. (You need these to be 100% accurate - so that the rendering can follow the real camera angles precisely.)

Existing tracking systems use different kinds of technology including image recognition, infra-red or sonar – none of these are ideal, and often they don’t deliver a reliable result.

    Precise feedback
The Furio virtual studio option manages the issue in a different way. As the dolly is in a physically known position, and all the movements in each of the axes are motorized and equipped with feedback sensors, it is easy to calculate the precise camera position in real time.

    • SD/HD genlock input
    • Industry standard interface to virtual studio software
    • External lens encoder of focus and zoom positions
    • Optionally interfaces to Fujinon and Canon digital lens drives
    • Absolute position sensors on translations

    Real life example
Every day on the national Belgian broadcaster, a program “De Rode Loper” uses this Virtual Studio set-up. The programming has been done easily and simply to make it very easy-to-use, and it is. The 10 minute show is live on air every night, and has been for the last 4 months.
